The electric vehicle market is expanding each year, driving strong demand for lithium and other materials essential for manufacturing EV batteries.
As a direct consequence of this, the EV battery recycling market is also expected to experience significant growth, driven by high demand for the daily throughput of recycled batteries.
Where does DV Power fit in this process?
To be recycled, a battery must be crushed. Before crushing, it needs to be completely discharged. This prevents harm to the crushing machinery.
Why? If the battery is not discharged before crushing, thermal runaway can occur, resulting in fires or sparks and causing damage to the crusher’s blades.
DV Power offers several options for EV battery discharge before recycling. BLU700C and BAR100N are both used in a combined process.
To find out how to use our equipment not only for testing, but also for deep discharge, you can read more in the newly published application note “EV Battery Discharge Prior to Recycling – BLU700C + BAR100N.
