DV Power offers a wide range of battery capacity testers solution for comprehensive battery capacity measurement and full battery discharge. All of them are portable, powerful and most of all universal. Any battery string, such as lead-acid, lithium-ion, nickel-cadmium based and others, with voltages in the range of 0 – 1350 V DC can be tested in an accurate, user-friendly way.
Besides the battery discharge test, BLU models can be used to discharge a battery, completely and efficiently, down to 0 V. Such total discharge is applied to Li cells at the end of their lifetime, as the initial step of the recycling process. When combined with Zero Voltage Discharge Module ZVD, BLU enables full battery discharge down to 0 V with constant current and short-circuiting the battery to remove the remaining energy and reduce rebound voltage. The effect of rebound voltage can also be eliminated more effectively using Battery Active Resistor BAR Series which is applicable to any battery type up to 500 V DC and is designed to be used after the main discharge unit (such as BLU device) has finished discharging the battery down to 0 V.
Transport of Li battery systems, due to safety reasons, requires batteries to be discharged down to 30%. BLU models provides special discharge mode enabling batteries to be discharged to the customer predefined voltage level.
BLU battery testers enable setting the discharge current up to 350 A, with 0,1 A resolution. If higher currents are required, several units can be connected in parallel, or BXL additional load units can be used. Discharge parameters can be monitored in real-time during the capacity test. Overall battery voltage, current, elapsed test time and capacity will be presented during the entire test on a touch screen display.
