Current and Voltage Transformer Analyzers from the CVA series are DV Power instruments mainly designed for testing current transformers (CT). Multiple tests – turns ratio, saturation (knee point), burden, demagnetization, winding resistance, and insulation resistance – can be performed using these instruments.
CVA instruments enable one-time connection to all CT measurement terminals including primary side, up to 5 taps on secondary side, and burden. An internal sophisticated relay matrix enables performing measurements in all 5 taps without any operator intervention and cables reconnection.
These powerful devices output up to 2 kV AC (50 or 60 Hz) for saturation (knee point) test, and up to 1 kV DC for insulation resistance test.
Besides current transformers, CVA can test inductive voltage transformers (VT/PT) and capacitive voltage transformers (CVT). Turns ratio, burden, winding resistance, and insulation resistance of VTs and CVTs can be measured.
