Battery Extra Load Units – BXL Series of devices are designed as an additional load to be used with the BLU series instruments if a required discharge current or power exceeds the capacity of a single BLU device.
The BXL Series of devices are based on the state-of-the-art technology. The devices are based on the most advanced power electronics achievements. Six to eight fans are integrated into the device itself. The BXL Series are powerful devices providing high discharge currents (up to 310 A DC) applicable to up to 500 V DC battery system voltage levels. A combination of the BLU and BXL instruments enables performing the capacity test in an accurate, user-friendly way in accordance to battery testing standards (IEEE 450-2010 / 1188-2005 / 1106-2015, IEC 60896-11/22 and other relevant standards).
A BLU device (in a BLU-BXL system combination) ensures control of the discharge process. The BXL simulates a constant load during the discharge test. Its load parameter (resistance) can be set prior to the discharge test start. The BXL provides flexibility in selecting its load capacities – several resistances can be set for majority of commercial battery nominal voltage levels.
